If you have been injured due to a faulty product you need to contact our experienced product liability attorney Charles Rock, who understands the laws and your rights in these types of injury cases.

The second largest automaker in the US is recalling 3,976 of its F-series commercial trucks due to a transmission software error. Apparently, the truck may inadvertently put itself into reverse when the driver thinks they’re shifting from park to drive, according to the company and documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It’s obvious the possible dangers associated with this error and the liability Ford understands they have. A Ford spokesperson said that no injuries or accidents have been caused by this error.

Sometimes companies issue recalls before any injuries or accidents have been reported. Ford is trying to prevent any harm before it happens. According to a Reuters article, the error was discovered at a Kentucky assembly plant and the recall was issued as a result.

If you own one of the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks from model year 2015 that are equipped with 6.2 liter gasoline or 6.7 liter diesel engines, and 6R140 transmissions, you are advised to contact a dealer near you to get the software repaired, free of charge.
