Truck Driver charged in Accident that injured Comedian Tracy Morgan

According to the latest information from CNN, the truck driver who is charged with causing the accident that injured comedian Tracy Morgan had been awake for 24 hours consecutively before the wreck occurred. The truck driver is currently charged with  “vehicular homicide and assault by auto” as a result of this truck accident that occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike in the early hours of Saturday morning. Another comedian, James McNair, was killed in the accident.

At about 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, the crash occurred when the limo van Morgan and others were riding in was hit from behind by the tractor trailer, according to CNN. In addition to Morgan and McNair, at least three other people in the van were injured.

As of Monday morning, Morgan was still reported as being in critical condition, having suffered several severe injuries in the truck accident, but he is also said to be showing signs of improvement. It has also been reported that the accident was caused when the truck swerved to avoid hitting the limo van, but ended up striking it from behind anyway. Four other vehicles were resultantly involved in the accident, although the people in those vehicles were not severely injured.
